i just moved from pivot to wordpress, mostly because there are some good themes available for wordpress and not so many for pivot.
i know that that sites like craigslist are slowly replacing classified ads, but you gotta wonder what these people were thinking – and the newspaper editors that placed the order:
happy friday everyone!
i finally bought my mac mini so i can start playing around the video stuff. final cut pro for the intel isn’t released so i’ll just get to know the machine and maybe use imovie or something like that. the thing is so tiny and quiet that i don’t even know it’s there. performance is reasonable – although i think i might get a faster hard drive than the 5400rpm unit that’s in there now.
i gotta get alyssa started on her pitching too – tryouts for the jv team are just a few months away. i’m going to call gina, the pitching coach, this weekend to get her started. we might pitch for a few days this weekend to get her arm up strengthened up before we meet up with the coach.
i think the picture is a few weeks old but look how many teeth he’s got. i’m working this weekend so i can have labor day off. i guess that’s good and bad. then on sunday, i’m playing 18 holes with the boyz – finally! it’s been like 6 months since my last competitive golf round but deep cliff is a good place to come back since it’s two 9-hole par-3 courses jammed together.
went for a walk with marcos the other day and spotted this. does the city really have to put up a sign near a fountain that says the ground is wet?
is this lady a back doctor? or does she like it in the back door? you decide, but i’m going to imagine it’s the latter.

oh…and punky brewster turned 30 today. i didn’t realize she was right behind me in age – i was consumed with alyssa milano at the time anyway.
so, i think it’s time to begin posting again. after getting out of the hospital, i think i’ve had to catch up for the last 6 months. things are calming down a little now that softball season is over and we’re clearing out the to-do list a little. by the time i got back to the blog, i realized that a few posts are missing, but i only have one reader anyway, so whatever.
i’m at work today till midnight covering a shift for one of our australian guys. i had a couple beers today at the art and wine festival so even a small nap might be in order.
Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) said some interesting things about the Internet during the recent hearings on net neutrality:
“I just the other day got, an internet was sent by my staff at 10 o’clock in the morning on Friday and I just got it yesterday. Why?”
“Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the internet commercially…”
“They want to deliver vast amounts of information over the internet. And again, the internet is not something you just dump something on. It’s not a truck.”
“It’s a series of tubes.”
“And if you don’t understand those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and its going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material.”
Here’s the full story
i’m catching up on old stuff since i got to work this morning and my laptop wouldn’t boot up because of hard drive failure. i do regular backups, which is nice, but i have to wait till monday for IT to bring it back to life. in the meantime, it makes for a good excuse to catch up on my old crap clogging my inbox.
